Celebrating Canada Day Weekend

Canada Day

Samuel enjoyed his Canada Day weekend at the cottage.

Family tent

K&K&S set up their tent. Boots decided the cottage was more comfortable. Sam had a nap in the cotage and rolled off the bed with a big thump - like his Papa, he survived!

The deck

When it is warm, the deck becomes the family gathering place.

The dock and the lake

The dock is also popular. Playing in the water was a hit.

Paddling and fishing

Kirk had amazing luck fishing from the canoe, catching a pike and a bass - both nearby. Sam watched the pike cleaning procedure with great interest. He had fun trying out his paddle in the canoe.

Campfire on beach

K&K designed a campfire pit on the beach and Kirk cooked his pike for lunch. Sam checked a toad with Grandpa.

Motor boating

Although Sam loves to play with boats, he did not like his boat ride on Saturday night. He doesn't like to be in large noisy vehicles - he cried in the little train at Valleyview Animal Farm, on the OC bus with Karine's parents, and in the boat with Grandpa.

Island picnic

On Sunday K&K&S paddled to Chris's Island. The rest of us joined them in the motorboat, bringing lunch supplies. Kirk caught another bass which he cleaned and  cooked to have with our lunch. What a fun time we had together!

Dinner

As usual, Samuel enjoyed his corn on the cob at dinner.

Breakfast

On Monday morning he dug into raspberry pancakes made by his Dad. Grandpa and Papa checked the Quebec map for a route from Messines to Lac Vert. Then Samuel was off to visit Mami, Papi and Kayla for the rest of the day.
